I’ll admit
I didn’t see it coming.
It took me completely by
surprise. I was struck by an unexpected
notion, that the things I once thought magical
were maybe nothing more than just themselves!
The soothing stream that meanders through the meadow,
the autumn leaves as they fly across the moon,
the golden grain caught blushing in the sun;
might not really have a spirit of their own.
Could it be they are simply what they are;
lazy creek, dead leaves, ripened seeds?
Without a doubt, I must control
these hasty bouts of wisdom
before they shatter
me completely!
The delivery of this poem is something different for me. I have never attempted to format a poem into any particular shape before. A bit of a challenge!
This is my response to today’s one-word prompt: Delivery
The photo was taken in Colorado, near the Continental Divide
Lovely – image and poem! Perhaps the shape of a poem is also simply what it is? This one shapes nicely.

Oh, I like that thought…the shape of a poem is simply what it is!! Thanks!

The picture is absolutely captivating. The poem delights me … don’t hold those thoughts though, please!

Thank you! I’m pretty sure the majority of my thoughts will continue to live in an unrealistic world!

Only the majority? I’m fairly sure that many would say ALL of mine!!

Well, my husband is a fairly “down to earth” kind of guy, so he keeps me grounded in practicality..sometimes…bless his heart!

Thanks! I took the photo in Colorado when we explored the Rocky Mountain National Park, near the Continental Divide area. It was simply gorgeous there.
