Progression

There is a lovely park about a mile from my house that has a beautiful display of Christmas lights. Every year, camera in hand, I attempt to find new angles for photos, hoping to capture something that doesn’t look like every other photo I have ever taken there. This year I wanted to catch the park at sunset. It sounded easy enough, but I was never in the right place at the right time until after Christmas. Finally, a few weeks before the lights are scheduled to come down, I now have a series of photos from sunset to dark that showcases the grandeur of God’s sky as it progresses to man-made brilliance.

With a smidgen of regret, these lights will be taken down on January 20th, but if they stayed up all the time, they wouldn’t be special anymore!

  1. This is soooo pretty. We have a park here, maybe 20 minutes away, where they do lights like this. I went last winter, but didn’t do it this year. Your images with the sunset colors included are stunning.

  2. The lighting is so subtle in the first photo I didn’t even realize there were Christmas lights in the trees until I started reading your post. What a beautiful bridge as well (with or without the lights).

    • It was a delicate sunset, my favorite kind. And I agree… the bridge is a beauty. By the way, I almost always comment on your posts but sometimes they just don’t show up! I guess I’m “comment” challenged!

      • WordPress is nothing if not inconsistent. Sometimes it won’t even let me simply “like” a post. Always an adventure 🙂

  3. Thank you for your lovely comment on ‘YELLOWLEAVES’ So kind and so very much appreciated. As you’ll have guessed by now, the computer is still misbehaving so please forgive me putting my comment on here. That leaf spoke to me!
