In photography, depth of field (DOF), also called focus range, is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image.

Great Photo, striking actually. I say from the look of the hills this was in the middle of summer.

I’ve lived in Northland a lot, my family are based in Whangerei, not too far from the Bay of Islands

I’ve been playing with depth of field with my new camera…I should go see what I’ve got. On the other hand it would be fun to take one just for this challenge. Wonder what of…..hmmmmmmm….it’s nasty nasty windy and freezing cold outside these past days…maybe something inside would be better…have to think about it.

I’ll be anxious to see what you come up with. The possibilities are endless – even indoors. Have fun!

Stunning! To see the clouds, it’s shadow on the plains and distant mountain between the blades of grass put me right there when you were taking the shot.

That’s a great compliment to a photo – when you feel like you are there. Thanks so much!
