Final Weekly Photo Challenge: All-Time Favorites

Once a week for several years now, I have looked forward to the weekly photo challenge hosted by the Daily Post at Word Press. Their weekly theme prompts me to view my collection of photos with a new eye as I try to find what I think best represents the challenge. Sadly, this is the last week of a challenge which has been a constant source of inspiration for me. It’s not that I can’t come up with photos on my own (and I will!), but it’s been such a delight to see how others interrupt the same prompt. Their response usually puts forth a new and different way of looking at things, not to mention some pretty amazing photography and wonderful new blogs to follow! I shall miss it! In this final week, we have been asked to share one of our All-Time Favorites.

I don’t know what it is about this photo—perhaps the colors, the toes, the wisp of hair across her face, or maybe the innocence—but it will forever be one of my all-time favorites!

  1. You captured a wonderful moment. I can see why it is your favorite.
I too enjoyed the WPC and Daily Prompt. It was a great way to connect
with other bloggers and to get creative juices flowing.

  2. Totally gorgeous. I hope to see you doing some other blog photo challenges. Maybe one of Cee’s. Or I’ve just seen that Pix to Words also has a rather good challenge. Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful photos. And yes, it is so said that this is the last WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge.

  3. I echo your sentiment exactly. Having had a sad and wan moment when I read the news, I decided that this is exactly the push I have needed to get myself into a better blogging cadence. So today I will start my French Fridays and on Monday I will be starting another series and on a good week with a following wind I will still post something on a Wednesday and it will always contain just one photograph. Only thing I have to do is make sure I actually do it!!!! And the silver lining …. well that’s very simple – through the challenge I have met some wonderful people including you and that is priceless 🙂

    1. I, among many others I’m sure, can’t wait to read “French Fridays” and whatever tempting tidbit you have in store for us on Monday. With your refreshing, often tongue-in-cheek voice, you always make me smile. I am also contemplating a new blogging presence, I just haven’t decided what yet. All I DO know is that I can’t give up the opportunity to make new friends in this community and keep up with the special ones I already have—like you!

  4. It’s a beautiful photo and a great choice.
I am going to spend today making sure I follow blogs that have appealed to me- like yours. Losing the WPC community is like friends moving away- we just have to keep the lines of communication open!

  5. This photo has a special place in my heart, Linda. My younger son started wearing glasses in Kindergarten. His teacher told the class that he was going to have a special surprise for him the next day. The kids thought he was the coolest kid in class the next day, when he walked in with new glasses–the first boy in the class to have these. Thirty years later and he still wears glasses. And I still think he’s the coolest kid. Thanks for the great memory.

  6. Beautiful photo and well said. I had only started the challenges in the last 2 months. I am so disappointed that they are no longer. Like you I enjoyed others interpretations of photos and words. I think we will all miss it. 🙏

  7. Amen I echo your words. You have summed up my sentiments just about to the tee.T I notice the T is very close to the tee, in that case summed it up exactly!

    1. I think many of us are saddened by the discontinuation of the challenge! Oh well! Onward and upward, they say. And I’m sure she wishes she could change her glasses to match every outfit and/or flower, but she has only the one pair ☹
