Dreamy Visions, Rhythmic Words

The Lens-Artists Challenge this week is “Dreamy”. Here’s my take:

In blankets soft, the night is mild
Moonlight kisses one small child
A world so calm, so still, so free
A dreamy place for her to be

A ship sails down the quiet river on a dreamy, misty morning, its wake gently cracking the mirror-like surface of the water. On the bank, a cozy cottage is nestled among early autumn trees, their leaves touched with gold and brownish-red. A forested hill, whose trees are laced with ribbons of fog, stands in protective silence.

A dreamy bush of delicate roses
Soft petals and gentle hues
Blend in a swirl of nature’s artistry
Too perfect to be true

Enhanced by silent rain, turrets and towers of golden stone rise up from the fairy-tale castle. The river beyond flows gently under silvery skies, its surface blurred by cloudy reflection. Through scattered raindrops, the city appears cloaked in a dreamy fog, suspended in a moment of time.

Through my window, twilight gleams
A snowy hush, a land of dreams
The sunrise grows in colors deep
A call to wake from soothing sleep.

A winding creek in stillness lies
Mirrored reflection from the skies
The gentle flow, a dreamy song
As branches scoot the dusk along.

Snow upon the earth has spread
To trees whose leaves have long since fled
Peachy clouds drift by with grace
To warm the cheeks of winter’s face.

  1. A dreamy post with beauty both in words and pictures! Love all your choices – and I think no one has chosen a sleeping child until now. Softly dreamy…The castle – is it in Budapest? thought I might recognize it?

  2. I didn’t recognize the Fisherman’s Bastion but I should’ve recognized the Parliament Building in the distance. We visited both on Viking’s Danube River cruise. The photo could be a boxed jigsaw puzzle and I wouldn’t know any better. But I’ll join the others here in choosing the first photo as “favorite”, both for the image and the poem. Wonderful words.
