Red is an emotional color. It means love, hate and many things in-between. It awakens passion, excitement and our will to survive. It is energizing! Red can also make an old stone structure come to life when used as an accent color on a door or a window. It encourages the passer-by to take notice and bids them to come inside… so we did!

While touring Ireland a year ago, we had ample opportunity to sample a variety of liquid refreshment! Local pubs are the heart and soul of the Emerald Isle. Our favorite “pub” experience was at a corner bar in Galway; not so much for the beer, but for the sweetest little old man we encountered there. He was in town that day for a doctor’s appointment and had stopped by his favorite pub for a pint of Guinness before heading home. He clearly enjoyed telling us all about himself and even circled a spot on our map to show us where he was from. You can get a drink anywhere, but the people you share one with make the memories special!

Just the thought of “Freshly Caught Fairies” makes me smile! I’m sure it would make my granddaughter smile too, right up until the moment she discovered they really didn’t have any, then she would be devastated! But still, it’s a very clever sign – enticing you to stop and check out the offerings at this market vendor in the streets of Galway, Ireland.
