Covered bridges in the United States are nostalgic because they have not been built here since the mid-1800’s. That’s when the development of cheaper wrought iron and cast iron led to metal rather than timber trusses. Many historic covered bridges, especially in the Northeastern part of the country, have been preserved and maintained. I find them to be a sign of simpler times and unpretentious beauty!
Is this in Parke County Indiana? Looks familiar.

Beautiful covered bridge, but I think they are all handsome and definitely nostalgic. Great choice. 🙂
