Situated on the Piazza di Santa Croce in Florence, Italy is the beautiful Franciscan church of Santa Croce. Construction of the church began in the late 14th century. The rectangles and squares of inlaid colored marble were added to the facade in the 1800’s. The open and spacious interior is home to exceptional frescoes and other artistic treasures, but it’s mostly famous for being the burial place of Michelangelo and Galileo.
Lovely.
