Pull up a seat in nature
where sunlight spills like gold
and time forgets its hurry
as quiet thoughts unfold.
The brook laughs over pebbles
beneath the moss-draped trees.
The wind hums low and mumbles
in the honey-scented breeze.
Pull up a seat in nature
let simple wonders stay
for joy is small and endless
when you watch the critters play.

Jekyll Island is a 3.5 hour drive from our house. It’s on our bucket list and we’ll bring our bikes for leisurely rides. Now I’ll add “sit on a bench and read calming poetry” as well 🙂

That all sounds great except the bike riding part. Ha! Thanks, Dave

Your poem truly resonates with me on such a deep level. The way you’ve captured the calm, unhurried rhythm of nature feels incredibly soothing—almost like stepping into a peaceful world where everything slows down.
As I was reading it, I could vividly imagine sitting in a quiet mountain lodge here in Nepal, surrounded by the majestic Himalayan views, with soft sunlight pouring over the peaks and a gentle breeze carrying the scent of pine. In that setting, your words feel even more alive—like they belong exactly there.
There’s something so pure and comforting in how you’ve expressed the beauty of simple moments—the laughter of the brook, the whisper of the wind, the joy of watching small creatures at play. It reminds me how powerful stillness and nature can be when we truly take the time to feel them.
Honestly, reading this brought me a sense of peace and quiet excitement at the same time. It’s the kind of piece that makes you want to pause, breathe, and just exist in the moment.
Beautifully written—every line feels genuine and full of warmth.
