A fjord is a long, narrow inlet with steep sides or cliffs, created by glacial erosion. This pristine coastal fjord extends to a vanishing point, but what beauty lies beyond? In Alaska, merely seek and ye shall find!

This is an eroded patch of asphalt on the sidewalk where I often walk. Each time I pass it, the shape reminds me of the continent of Africa. The other day I snapped a picture so I could compare it to a map. There is a remarkable resemblance, so now when I go for a walk – I just tell my husband I’m going to Africa and back!
There is a park just blocks from where I live that always does an amazing job of decorating for Christmas. The festive glow of the lights provides an air of wonder and magic – and never fails to make me feel like a kid again!
My place in this world has changed many times over the years. Growing up, my place was in my room. It’s where I’d go when I wanted to be alone or to do my homework or where I was sent when I was in trouble! After the birth of my daughter, my place was by her side providing constant care and an abundance of love until I realized she needed her own place too, which was – at times – without me. These days, my place in this world seems to be outdoors! I especially enjoy time by the creek on a sunny day when I can see the reflection of sky on water. Right now, my place is appropriately here–somewhere between heaven and earth!
Weekly Photo Challenge: Place in the World
Do you ever walk on tree tops;
do you skip from branch to branch;
plop a pebble in a puddle
just to watch the bent limbs dance?
Do you look down at your feet
to find the sky?
So do I!!
My response to today’s one-word prompt: Candid
What was once a peaceful reflection in still water, transformed into this when a frog jumped into the water!
Weekly Photo Challenge: Transformation
Lots of transient elements to this photo: snow in the mountains, the play of sunlight on the hills, reflections of the sky and bridge captured in water, the fresh green of a new Spring! A fleeting moment saved forever in a photo!
