This floodwall in Paducah, Kentucky offers security to the historic downtown area when the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers overflow their banks. Over three city blocks of the wall are painted in murals capturing the important moments in Paducah’s history. In addition to downtown Paducah, the floodwall protects and minimizes the flood risk for over 11,000 surrounding acres and more than 20,000 people. Security, indeed!
Nice that the artwork decorates the wall. If I remember my Civil War history correctly, there’s a Paducah connection with General Ulysses S Grant. A mural of that one?

Not specifically, I don’t believe, but several of the murals include him among others. There are a few markers commemorating him around town.

Good to hear that U.S. Grant has gotten his due.

The murals make for an interesting attraction, rather than an eyesore.
