On the main waterway into central Stockholm, Sweden, is the sculpture Godfather on the Arch of Heaven.
This unique sculpture stands 18 meters (60 ft.) high. It shows a naked God balancing at the end of a curve, hanging stars in the sky that were tossed to him by an angel at the base of the sculpture. The design has water cascading from the tip of the sculpture into the river and represents artist Marshall Frederick’s belief in eternal life. The Holy Spirit, like water, descends to the earth and then ascends to the sky again in an eternal cycle.
I took this photo in June, 2012.
