A Winter’s Walk

A snowy walk on a Winter day

Only the geese are going my way

The silence is deafening; the snow is deep

Creatures who scurry have fallen asleep

Twigs on the branches are brittle and bare

The soul of next Spring is buried somewhere

I love the beauty; the freedom to roam

Now snow-covered boots are walking me home
