The wilderness never fails to amaze me. Mountains rise from the ancient upheaval deep within the earth, while streams wind through the valleys carved in their wake. And somehow, amid the rugged stone and towering peaks, delicate daisies push their way through the rocky soil, adding a burst of brightness to an already magnificent landscape.

Those delicate daisies pushing up through Glacier’s rocky soil are such a quiet marvel — all that toughness tucked inside something so fragile. We hiked some of Glacier’s high trails a few summers back and the kids couldn’t believe anything blooms up there at all. Your line about a burst of brightness in an already magnificent landscape nails exactly what makes it stick.

How I’d love to hike more of Glacier! We were there during Covid and many of the trails were closed, but we saw enough to understand it is a special place and we MUST go back. Thank you for the lovely comment.
